This form of shipment is designed for those customers who are moving all of their household furniture and possessions. These consignments are sent by sea. The fact that the goods are loaded into a sole use container and normally are at sea within a week means that although sea freight is slower than air freight waiting time is kept to a minimum. We can, in most cases, give you an ETA of when the goods will arrive at your destination port before the container is loaded.

This type of move is for those customers who are only taking personal items and can include small amounts of furniture. You share a container with other Britannia customers going to the same destination. This type of shipment can take a little longer than a sole use container but as you only pay for the space you fill it is more cost effective. All goods are labelled and an inventory will be given to you on collection to enable you to check on the delivery of your goods.

These consignments are packed into treated bespoke wooden crates. We only crate goods for selected countries only and again is treat very much like a groupage consignment, the wooden crates are stacked into metal shipping consignments and you only pay for the space your crate takes up in the container.

With all of the above services we can offer a full door to door service where our agents will arrange delivery and unpacking of your goods at your new property. Our overseas agents are especially chosen for their levels of service and we meet with them regularly to discuss quality and levels of service standards. Some customers prefer to collect their own goods from the port, Port only or Customs clear and hand over. Each of these services can be arranged.

Most customers who use airfreight to move goods are either only sending small amounts of goods or are sending goods that they need quickly and can't wait for the goods to be sent by sea. You have to be aware that air freight consignments are not only priced on volume but by weight also, so heavy items need to be kept to a minimum. In most cases your goods will be delivered to your destination address packed.

If your goods arrive before you have organised a delivery address storage can be arranged at the destination agents warehouse, prices can be sent with the UK quote to give you an idea, charges are normally collected at the destination. If you know prior to leaving the UK that you will require storage we can arrange low cost storage in the UK.

We work with a company called Currencies Direct who specialise in the transfer of funds abroad, they are not a bank and they don't charge transfer fees. They make your money work for you by looking at the money markets and advising you when to transfer the money. By working with them customers find that they can save money to assist with the relocation costs.
